| the house | About Uist Too many things to do and see here to tell of here. Explore, find out what locals are up to. Great walks, ceilidhs, local festivals, exhibitions, museums, wildlife, fish to catch, outdoor activities. If you can get on a boat to offshore islands you will see most but walks to remote sites, duns (fort crannogs), bothies, nesting colonies or wild beaches are very rewarding. The ever-changing landscape has a freshness and sense freedom unlike anywhere I know. The weather can be hostile and heavenly in seconds and the colours from subtle to blindingly beautiful. A gentle, poetic and subtle culture has grown up with this rugged landscape. |
